1. All products in the store are Non-Toxic*, meaning they are not highly or moderately hazardous to the human body when applied/ingested on/into the human body, as defined by 3rd party agencies like EWG (TM) Skin Deep Database and other agencies like PubMed.US National Library of MedicineNational Institutes of Health.
Below is a list of some of the hazardous chemicals that are excluded in the products in our store (based on manufacturer data). Please note that we exclude more chemicals than what are listed here, but these are some of the main hazardous culprits in cosmetics and personal care products.
2. So how do we choose our products?
We have developed what we call 'The Goodness Index'
1. Good - Our First Criteria is that each product has to be good or non-toxic as defined above. If it has synthetic chemicals, they should be mild and not hazardous, as defined above.
2. Better - Our Second Preference is that each product should have as many natural ingredients as possible.
3. Best - Our Third Preference is that each product should have as many organic ingredients as possible. (see certifications we look for below)
3. What are the certifications for Natural and Organic personal care products? And what do they mean?
We choose products based on their ingredients. If a product doesn't have one of the certifications below, the ingredients have to be non-toxic based on EWG's Skin Deep rating as explained in the table below.
